Planned Project: Local participatory management in the rehabilitation of the Historic Center of La Habana (GEPAC).
The Program focuses on improving the local management model of the Office of the Historian of the City of La Habana (OHCH); strengthening methods of citizen participation in decision-making; and supporting the creation of small private undertakings and cooperatives. The Project will function as a laboratory for practices which, when extended to municipal governance, would contribute to the processes of decentralization and local development currently underway in Cuba. No tender is envisioned since the OHCH is the only institution authorized to intervene in the Historic Center of La Habana.
